August 31, 1927 — October 30, 2021

MOULTRIE, GA – Reverend Edward DiBenedetto, 94, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Archbold Memorial Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Reverend Chris Walden officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45 at the chapel.  Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

Casketbearers will be Conner DiBenedetto, Noah Hawkins, Adam Hawkins, Harris McIntyre, Gentry Widner, and Bob McCard.  Honorary casketbearers will be Luke Walden, Eddie Paul Walden, and Eric Herndon.

Born August 31, 1927, in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Mary Margaret Coskery DiBenedetto and Edward DiBenedetto.  Rev. DiBenedetto was known as the loving, nurturing founding pastor of Christian Crusade Church.  His entire family was musically inclined.  He was especially talented in playing the mandolin and enjoyed singing Bluegrass music.  Mr. Eddie often ministered to others as he visited nursing homes, along with the sick and needy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Tony DiBenedetto and Mike DiBenedetto; and grandchild, Memarie DiBendetto.

Survivors include his wife Peggy Plymel DiBenedetto; his children, Perry DiBenedetto of Lexington, KY, Debbie Byrnes and Kathy DiBenedetto, both of Fayetteville, AR, Gary DiBenedetto, Fran Franklin and Larry, and David Hawkins, all of Moultrie, and Tammy Powell and Ron of Thomasville, GA; twenty-five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. Special daughters-in-law, Tracy DiBenedetto and Rachel Hawkins.    

Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Crusade Church, 201 Norman Estates, Moultrie, Georgia 31788, or Missions of your choice.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
