Moultrie, Georgia – Doris Opal Tidwell, 75, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating. Interment will follow at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 PM, Sunday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Jacob Tidwell, Simran Tidwell, Brandon Mock, Tony Mock, Dylan Bailey, Amanda Braswell.

Born March 16, 1951, in Adel, Georgia, she was a daughter of Annie Bryan Carey, and the late Horace Obert Carey.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Carl Tidwell; son, Jerry Dewayne Tidwell, twin infant grandsons, James Alexander Tidwell and Christopher Michael Tidwell; siblings, Buddy Carey, Irma Carey and Bertha McClelland.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Jenna Mock and husband, Brandon; grandson, Jacob Tidwell and wife, Simran; granddaughter, Karly Tidwell; sisters, Janice Frazier, Tammy Carey, Bonnie Watts; special friend, Rita Walden; as well as other extended family members and friends.

She was a dedicated homemaker, and dearly loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren and was a true caregiver to anybody she met.
