Doris Jean Perry

October 6, 1947 — April 10, 2023

MOULTRIE, GA – Doris Jean Perry, 75, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Jeffery Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Brandon McCook, Johnny McCook, Cameron Allen, Wandall Norman, Caleb Hancock, and Tim Walker.  Jacob Hancock will serve as honorary casketbearer.

Born October 6, 1947, in Colquitt County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Allen Perry and Mittie Mildred Rutland Perry.  Mrs. Doris retired from the State of Georgia as a behavioral health instructor.  She loved watching westerns, cooking and drinking Dr. Pepper.  Mrs. Doris was adventurous, she enjoyed traveling and visiting new places.   She was a loving, caring woman who loved life and was extremely thankful for her bonus family members.  Mrs. Doris would always tell them “Let’s go on an adventure”, and away they go.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Annette Perry Robertson; nephew, Frank Allen Robertson.

Survivors include her bonus daughter, Bobbie Allen and Wandall Norman; bonus grandchildren, Hannah Sumner and Brandon McCook, Camron Allen, Lexi Norman, Georgia Kelley, Yamilet Davis; bonus great-grandchildren, Mason, Hartleigh, Charli and Emma; bonus family members, Charlene Allen and husband Rodney, Becky Hancock and her mother, Kathy Parker, Becky’s children, Caleb Hancock, Jacob Hancock, Rene Mims, Sandra Walker and Tim, Summer Ricks, Melinda Wise, Kaitlyn White, Laurie Gibson; fur babies, Bella and Sophie; beloved friends, Bobbie Ellis, Judy Heath, Belinda and Royce Wiley.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Colquitt Regional Hospice nurses and the Home Health Care employees for all the care and help that Mrs. Perry received.
