Born March 17, 1932, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late John Ellis Gregory and the late Mary Agnes Sumner Gregory.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Clyde Goings; siblings, Jack Lemuel Gregory and wife, Elmira Beckett Gregory Grovenstein, John Ellis “Sonny” Gregory, Jr., Betti Agnes Gregory Weaver and husband, Billy Dean Weaver, Hazel Gregory Payne and husband, Wilburn Edward Payne.

A talented beautician, she had a natural gift for making others feel special and took great pride in helping people look and feel their very best. Her work was more than simply a profession; it was an opportunity to visit with others, share stories and laughter, and form lasting friendships with those she served throughout the years. Her warm personality and caring nature made people feel comfortable in her presence, and she truly enjoyed the fellowship that came along with her work.
Prior being a part time resident in Florida to be closer to her family, she was a faithful member of Autreyville Baptist Church. Her church and her faith held a special place in her heart, and she treasured the fellowship and friendships she enjoyed with her church family. Above all, she was devoted to those she loved, and moving to Florida allowed her to spend precious time closer to family. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her love for others, and the special way she made those around her feel cared for and appreciated.
Along with her faith and family, one of her greatest joys was gardening. She had a remarkable love and knowledge of flowers, especially daylilies. A true enthusiast, she could identify by name more than 100 different varieties of daylilies.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the American Lung Society.
