Derrell Charles Gates

NORMAN PARK, GA - Derrell Charles Gates, 49, of Norman Park, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home.

A memorial service will be held in Florida at his grandmother's residence at 5:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Born May 1, 1973, in Quantico, Virginia, he was the son of Derrell Allen Gates of Florida and the late Mary Sue Gates.  Mr. Derrell was the manager of a pecan warehouse owned by Ken Apperson.  Derrell was a forest firefighter and served his country in the United States Army.  Mr. Derrell enjoyed trading on the stock market and socializing with his family and friends.  Most of all, Derrell was a social guy with a big heart for others. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. 

 Derrell will be missed by his surviving family, father, children, Shelly Gates and Charles Gates, and siblings Tiffaney Jacobson, Kendra Stephens, and Amanda Risinger.
