Obituary

Moultrie, Georgia – Clara McRae Musick, 77, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Colquitt Regional Senior Care.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 22, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. S.E. Newberry officiating. Private interment is at Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo, Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:00 AM, Friday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Stacey McRae, Joey McRae, Blake Strickland, Stacey Croy, Joey Tomlinson and Ryan Walsh.

She was the fifth child born to John and Alma McRae in Pavo, Georgia, and was the “baby” and only girl. “Life was hard growing up with four older brothers” she commented on several occasions. “But, if you were to ask them, I am sure they would say it was hard growing up with a baby sister!” She took pride in her brothers and loved them dearly.

Clara was a soft-spoken lady with a big heart. Everyone that she encountered considered her a friend. She worked as a dedicated caregiver for years; made many friends and helped families care for their loved ones to the very end.

She married later in life to Ralph Musick, whom she cherished. She enjoyed peace and solitude along with music. Clara enjoyed fishing and she also loved flowers with roses being her favorite.

Though she had no children of her own, she had the privilege of watching her nieces and nephews grow up and claimed them as her own. She loved her family dearly. She will live on in our hearts and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her brother, LouRay McRae and wife, Janet; sister-in-law, Carol McRae; nieces, Robin Croy and husband, Stacey, Kim Tomlinson and husband, Joey, Wonda McCracken and Teresa Walden; nephews, Stacey “Bubba” McRae, Joey McRae; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Evon “Lee” McRae and wife, Juanita; Avery McRae and wife, Mae, and Hayward McRae; nieces, Sherry McRae Hurst and Tammy McRae Cook.

Her family would like to thank everyone that was involved in her care, with special recognition going to her CNAs and Nursing Staff at Colquitt Regional Senior Care and her Colquitt Regional Hospice Team.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
