Evelyn Christine “Chris” Tyler Somerindyke, 82, of Moultrie, died Sunday, April 19, 2020 at her home.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, private graveside rites will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Sardis Cemetery with the Rev. Josh Purvis officiating.
Born December 28, 1937 in Ellenton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Hobby and Mary Vann Hobby. Mrs. Somerindyke retired from Clerk of Court-Colquitt County as an office manager/ bookkeeper. She was the past state president of GA Elks Aidmore Auxillary and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Guys and Dolls, and the Adult 2 Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Victor P. Chitty.
Survivors include her husband, Pete Somerindyke of Moultrie, GA; children, Kelvin M. Chitty and Nancy Fitch, Karen Chitty McCardle all of Moultrie, GA, Charles Somerindyke of Atlanta, John Somerindyke of Moultrie, GA; sister, Grace T. Davidson of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren, Michael Chitty and Maria, Ashley Walden and Chad, Morgan Richards, Angela McCardle, Allison McCardle, Parker Somerindyke; seven great-grandchildren and other family members.
