Carolyn McCranie Knight

MOULTRIE, GA- Carolyn McCranie Knight, 85, of Moultrie, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Andrew Hall officiating.   Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.  

The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45PM Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Richard McCranie, J.L. Chambers, Brian Jones, Chase Knight, Colby Browning, and Rob Gay.

Born January 7, 1938, in Cook County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Walter Olsen McCranie and Mary Lee Forehand McCranie.  Mrs. Carolyn was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She was a wonderful, strong-willed, loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.  She was extremely supportive and proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren while they participated in sports and other activities.  Mrs. Carolyn enjoyed keeping her immaculate yard filled with beautiful flowers and gardening.   She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, her special dance, and the legacy that she left behind.   Mrs. Carolyn was “Grandmother” to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Knight; brothers, Dan McCranie, Richard McCranie; sister, Mary Evelyn Young.

Survivors include her children, Tim Odum and wife Marilyn of Rutledge, GA, Janet Bozeman and husband Warren, and Jeff Odum all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Marc Odum and wife Shayla, Christie Odum, Austin Odum and wife Alisha, Joni Chambers and husband J.L., Jonah Bozeman and wife Morgan, Jordan Odum Browning and husband Colby; twenty great-grandchildren; siblings, Retha Jones of Baconton, GA, Margie Connell of Ashburn, GA; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
