Carolyn Carlton Allegood

Moultrie, GA – Carolyn Carlton Allegood, 83, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Mark Jordan, Reverend Greg Roberts and Reverend Junior Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM, Tuesday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Hugh Allegood, Dewayne Allegood, Marcus Carlton, Mike Carlton, Witt Brown and Cade Brewer.

Born April 13, 1942, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late John Edwin Carlton and Lillie Mae Peacock Carlton. She was a Patient Finance Specialist at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

A dedicated Christian, she was a faithful and active member at Riverside Holiness Church and Liberty Faith Holiness Church. She was very active, along with her late husband, Dewitt Wandall Allegood, with Gideons International.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and was also a talented and master seamstress.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dewitt Wandall Allegood; grandson, Andrew Scott Allegood; sister, Christine Carlton Lairsey; and brothers, Carl H. Carlton and Curtis E. Carlton.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas Patrick Allegood, Terry Glynn Allegood and wife Shari, Jerry Lynn Allegood and wife Susan; daughter, Andrea Kim Sullivan and husband Pat; grandchildren, Mary Beth Allegood, Vicky Allegood, John Allegood, Witt Brown and wife Shelby, T.J. Allegood and wife Brooke, Kaitlin Brewer and husband Cade, Nathaniel Allegood; great-grandchildren, Vincent Allegood, Abby Allegood, Deacon Allegood; sisters-in-law, Shirley Carlton and Ellen Carlton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
