Billy D. Tucker

Billy D. Tucker, 85, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at his home.

          A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM January 16, 2021 at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Smith and the Rev. Randy Jackson officiating.   Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.

          Born January 6, 1936 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Henry Tucker and Lillie Grace Freeman Tucker.  Mr. Tucker was a United States Army Reserve Veteran and was of the Baptist faith.   He was the owner/operator of Billy Tucker’s Garage for 52 years, a Mason for 60 years and a farmer.  Mr. Tucker enjoyed restoring and repairing tractors, farm equipment and other vehicles.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Curtis Tucker, Carl Tucker, Polly Wycoff, and Farrell Tucker.

          Survivors include his wife, Gail Carlton Tucker of Moultrie; children, Marcia G. Campbell of Statesboro, Carlton Tucker and wife Dana of Moultrie; granddaughter, Amy D. Sheley and husband Josh; step-grandchildren, Brittney Laverty and husband Jordan, Heather Graczyk and husband Danny; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; sisters and brother, Betty Stevenson, J.B. Tucker, and Carol Free; special friend, Dr. Jimmie Matthews of Moultrie.
