Betty Janice Hill Terry

MOULTRIE, GA – Betty Janice Hill Terry, 92, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Rodney Nix officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Tyler Stewart, Trevor Nemeth, Gage Beamon, Gavin Beamon, Ward Terry, Patrick Terry, Hunter Hancock and Will Pitts.

Born March 16, 1930, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Joe Hill and Effie Jones Hill.  Mrs. Terry retired from Jim Hill-Southland Interior as a secretary and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.   She adored her family and was the pillar of the family.   Mrs. Terry was a fantastic cook, enjoyed gardening and was a well-known quilt maker.   She will always be remembered as a loving, caring, and compassionate woman who will be missed dearly.   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Terry; son, Wayne Terry; grandson, Colt Hancock; son-in-law, Kenneth Hancock.

Survivors include her children, Patricia “Pat” Terry Hancock, Jimmy Terry both of Moultrie, “bonus son” Tommy Stallins of Camilla; grandchildren, Cody Hancock and wife Anita, Jody Terry and wife Jennifer, Misty Nemeth and husband Shaun, Amanda Hall and husband Bud, Cassandra Yazinski and husband Jeff; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Dale and Terry Taylor, Shain Petty; numerous of extended family members and friends.
