Betty Sowell Seawright

May 31, 1948 — January 1, 2021

Betty Sowell Seawright, 72, of Moultrie passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Golden Apple.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2020 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Corey Shiver officiating.  Interment will be in Pinecrest Cemetery in Pelham GA.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.

Born May 31, 1948 in Adel, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jim Sowell and Zelma Hickey Sowell.   Mrs. Seawright retired from Kohl’s as a customer service representative and attended Christian Life Center.   She was a loving mother to her children who sacrificially provided for her family.  Mrs. Seawright enjoyed being Nana to her grandchildren, reading her Bible, loved shopping for others and was proud to find bargains. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Odom.

Survivors include her children, James Seawright and wife Theresa of Cumming, GA, Renee Simmons and husband Earnie of Hartsfield, Doug Hurst and wife Angie of Moultrie; seven grandchildren; brothers, Harry Sowell and wife Susan of Harmony, GA, Randy Sowell, Ralph Sowell and wife Wanda all of Meigs; several nieces, nephews and other special family members.
