Betty Elizabeth Plymel Pate

Betty Elizabeth Plymel Pate, 84, of Doerun, died Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Doerun with Dr. David Benton officiating.  Private inurnment will be in Doerun Cemetery.

Born March 6, 1937 in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Troy Plymel and Thelma Bragg Plymel.  Mrs. Pate was a retired lab technician with Smith and Cline Laboratories.  She attended First Baptist Church of Doerun.  She enjoyed reading and taking care of her flowers.  Her family remembers her as a very sweet and giving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Jefferson Pate, Sr., one brother, Marion Plymel and two sisters, Martha Jane Lollar and Ruth Hawkins.

Survivors include two sons, Arlie Jefferson Pate, Jr. and wife Kathy and Richard A. Pate and wife Donna, all of Moultrie; two daughters, Sharon Pate Baird and husband Billy of Doerun and Brenda Pate Woods of Thomasville; one brother, Lamar Plymel and wife Sharon of Norman Park and one sister, Dorothy Faye Hobby of Moultrie; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
