Alva Browning

MOULTRIE, GA – Alva Browning, 94, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. 

Born July 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Talton Calat Browning and Mary Virginia McPhail Browning.   Mr. Browning was a United States Army Veteran, and a retired truck driver.  He enjoyed relaxing in his backyard, going fishing and just being outdoors.  Mr. Browning was avid Nascar fan and enjoyed watching it on tv. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Browning; stepdaughter, Pam; siblings, Virginia Annett Nichols, Tafton Calat Browning, Jr.

Survivors include his stepchildren, Debra, Cheryl, and Laura Ann; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Miller of Moultrie.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Disabled Veterans (Wounded Warriors).
