Alice Christine Shiver Chitty, 97, of Moultrie, died Sunday, May 17, 2020 at her home.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Hopewell Cemetery with Mr. Herbert Connell officiating.
Born December 23, 1922 in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Johnny M. Shiver, Sr., and Jewell O’Neal Shiver. Mrs. Chitty was a farmer and a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. She was a life member of the VFW Post 4830 Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kendall Bell Chitty, Sr.; sons, Larry Kendall Chitty, Kendall Bell Chitty, Jr.; sister, Juanita Frassrand; brothers, Alton Shiver, Alvin Shiver and Billy Jo Shiver.
Survivors include her children, Cecil Dennis Chitty of Arizona, Emily Rowell of Tampa, FL, Barry Schiller of Moultrie, Judy Stevens and Jimmy, Deborah Logan and Samuel all of Panacea, FL, Joey Chitty and Gwen of Moultrie, Teressa Chitty Blanchard of Winston-Salem, NC; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Jean Jordan of Moultrie, Carolyn Nazworth of Crawfordville, FL; brother Johnnie M. Shiver, Jr. of Moultrie.
